The English Language and Culture (ELC/ESL) course is a three month course for those who want to:

Gain cultural understanding and improve conversational English skills.
Develop vocabulary, pronunciation, practical language and critical thinking skills.
Expand your biblical world view.
Gain skills to work with multi-national teams.
Instruction takes place in small groups and classroom settings using activities, discussions on current issues, real life situations, and weekly field trips. Our main curriculum is Interchange or New Bridges, however we purpose to adapt our curriculum and training environment to fit your needs. Students from various nations live together in a community setting with other native English speakers. This gives students a full immersion experience to use English in different settings. At YWAM-Salem you will learn English with a mission minded focus.

Living in community is part of what makes YWAM unique. Our relationships are firmly base on giving preference to one another in love and respect. We live together, eat together, and learn together. Everyone participates in the work duties of the community. While learning English, you will also develop and deepen your relationship with the Lord through weekly worship, intercession, and our community gatherings.
