Street Surge
What we desire to do:
Assist you in their discipleship of your youth by providing outreaches to compliment the day to day discipleship you are investing into your students. Let us serve you!
Get to know you more and serve the Lord together. We desire to work with the local church and strengthen the relationship between Mission Adventures Salem and your church.
Here is how it works:
Choose from the below outreaches that we offer. We will then come to your church, and train your group in not only how to do all these outreaches, but also why these outreaches are significant from a Biblical perspective. After your training, the following day or week, we will then put the training into action as we hit the streets of Salem to do your selected outreaches.
Cost:
$45 per church in Salem, OR
$60 per church outside of Salem, OR
Hot Chocolate Handout
This outreach is all about showing the kindness of God to strangers. Who does not like hot chocolate on a cold rainy Oregon day? By simply offering hot chocolate to people, an opportunity arises to tell of the love of Christ.
Survey Sweep
Asking people on the street to partake in one of our many thought provoking surveys is a great way to hear what others think, and when opportunity arises, share what you feel as well.
Songs and Art
For the musical and artistically talented, this outreach provides a great platform to attract the interest of others, and give you a great opportunity to share the gospel through your talents. Whether through painting, drawing, or dancing, God will be glorified in this outreach.
Step up to the Mic
Who said preaching from the streets is outdated? Not with us! Step up to a microphone and tell people on the street how Jesus changed your life.
Letters to Salem
Post your prayers for the city of Salem all over, all enclosed in colorful envelopes that say Letter to Salem. As pedestrians read your prayers for this city, seeds of the faith will be planted, in the lives of many.
Crosswalk
Identify with Jesus as you carry a cross down the street, from the skaters park to the capitol and back. This outreach will not only get you lots of weird looks, but it will instigate great conversations and opportunities to share the gospel with people.
Prayer Tent
People need prayer, and this outreach provides your group with the opportunities to do just that.
Signs
Walk around with life size street signs, all of which are designed to strike up a thought provoking conversation with people. This outreach is a great one to get your students interacting with people and sharing their faith.
Speaking with the Stars
Hit the streets with our life size cardboard cut outs of various movies stars. This outreach draws out spiritual discussions related to the particular movie stars and their lives.
Spoken Word
Proclaim the word of God over the city of Salem by strategically reading scripture over key places of influence in our city.
Pocket Change
Share Christ while giving away pocket change. Salvation is a free gift for us, just like the change, but unlike the change salvation cost Jesus everything. It is up to us on whether or not we will accept the free gift of salvation, just like choosing to accept the change
