FOUNDATIONS OF COUNSELLING MINISTRY
Biblical Counselling for a Hurting World
The Foundations for Counseling Ministry School (FCM) is an introductory course designed to teach essential skills like active listening, understanding belief systems, and discerning the voice of God. We explore the impact of beliefs on behaviors, delve into topics like rejection and rebellion (Plumbline), family dynamics, attachment and bonding during developmental stages, trauma, human sexuality, and more.
This comprehensive 12-week lecture phase takes place here at YWAM Salem in Oregon, with an optional 8-week outreach led by FCM staff following the course. The goal of the school is to provide foundational counselling training, and throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own life journeys through assignments, one-on-one interactions, and small group discussions.
