Foundations Of Counseling Ministry
People of all cultures around the world have experienced the pain that comes with broken relationships. Our challenge and privilege as Christians are to proclaim the power of the Gospel in mending broken hearts.
FCM is about learning the ways of God in order to counsel people from a biblical point of view. It focuses on bringing healing into your life so that, in turn, you can lead people into freedom and victorious Christian living.
FCM is 24 weeks long and is in a live-learn setting where students, staff and visiting speakers interact daily with one another. This school is for anyone who likes to work with people
FCM offers whole person training programs in counseling which have broad learning goals in three areas:
Personal Development(grace, relationships, identity and self awareness).
Skill Development(personal interactions, active listening, biblical belief renewal, prayer for healing, intercession).
Cognitive Development(defining counseling in the light of Gods character, the work of the Cross and the Holy Spirit, the believers identity in Christ, repentance and forgiveness, calling and gifts, stages of spiritual development, Gods intention for the personality, authority through intercession, cross-cultural counseling, and the role of the counselor in ministry.)
Other topics also include: Belief Systems, Listening Prayer, Grace, Listening Skills, Families / Family Systems, Grief, Addiction, Rebellion & Rejection, Root Areas of Wounding.
Prerequisites:
FCM is for graduates of the Discipleship Training School (DTS) or Cross Roads Discipleship Training School (CDTS) with completion of respective school field assignments.
Cost:
The cost of the Lecture Phase (including tuition, housing and meals for 3 months) is approximately $3000.00 USD. The Outreach Phase cost (including tuition, housing and meals) varies depending on the outreach location and airfare but usually comes out to about $2000-3000.00 USD. Transportation from/to our facilities in Salem, OR, USA is not included.
