    Missionary Care Foundations Course

    Are you a leader looking for tools and resources on how to better care for your team? Are you a missionary or ministry worker that has a heart for the health and well being of your fellow workers?  The MCFC is a 3-week course designed for you!

    What is the MCFC?

    The Member Care Foundations is based on the definition of member care as: “The formal and informal efforts to develop, preserve, and restore kingdom workers for effective service.” It is built upon seven areas of support that provide care for missionaries:

    • Savior care
    • Self-care
    • Staff care (mutual care)
    • Shepherd care
    • Structure care
    • Sender/Supporter care
    • Specialist care

    During the three-week course, many topics and tools will be presented in each area using a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, demonstrations, practice sessions, and applications interspersed with instruction.

    Students of the MCFC are provided with a training manual, “tools,” and a digital library of resources to support them in the fields of service where helpful personnel may not be accessible. All the presenter’s notes and power point presentations are also given to the students for their own review and use in communicating member care concepts.

    Program Details

    Dates

    The MCFC will take place January 12 – February 1, 2020 at the YWAM Salem Campus

    Cost

    The MCFC course fees are $625 plus a $25 registration fee.This includes room and board, and all seminar supplies. When you register, you only need to pay the registration fee of $25.00, but may pay the full course fee which together would be: $650.  Or you may pay full course fee upon arrival.

    There are no prerequisites as it will be open to member care workers outside of YWAM as well.

    Meet the Course Leaders

    This course will be lead by Marcia LaRock.  Marcia served for 25 years with YWAM in training and staff care and development at Heidebeek (in the Netherlands), She is excited to be involved in helping others learn more about how to develop and care for our fellow missionaries and ministry staff. Ah Kie Lim, YWAM’s International Member Care Leader will be among the staff members/instructors for the course.
